Version History of While You Were Out
-------------------------------------
Version 2.2 - Removed restriction of not informing user of new messages
if that user send a message to himself. This can be
accomplished by setting the New Message Delay Time to 0 (off).
The Default User in the Options menu now sets the default user
of the current execution of WYWO. The User function will
allow messages from other users to be read, but once read
mode is exited the default user becomes the current user.
Added option for New Message Notification Message Box to
be require a response so the message would have to be answered
before continuing with other programs.
Added a focus identification to all of the WYWO programs
for the Listboxes and Combo Boxes to identify when they
have the input focus.
Fixed a bug that would not delete old messages if the user
had over 80 messages on file.
Version 2.12 - Fixed New Message Delay Time = 0(Off) bug which did not
disable the new message alarm when WYWO was loaded with
a delay time of 0, only when it was changed from the options
screen.
Fixed WSETUP bug of not being able to use the tab key to
move to the username listbox.
Added keyboard shortcut keys for all buttons in both WSETUP
and WMONITOR that can be accessed with the ALT key.
If WYWO is launched from WMONITOR and the Exit button is
pressed, WYWO will exit completely and not be minimized.
If WSETUP is closed from the system menu and users have been
added or deleted, the user will be asked if he/she would like
to save the changes.
All WYWO Message Types are now created and modified by the
WSETUP program and stored in a WMSGTYPE.DAT file in the WYWO
directory so they are now defined on a global scale instead
of for each individual user. The User Message types have
been taken out of WYWO Options and the WYWO.INI file.
Added an Exit button for WSETUP. The Save button will now
save either the user names or message types depending on the
screen being displayed and will not exit the program.
If WYWO and/or WMONITOR are running when WSETUP is saving
data, they will be updated to reflect the changes made in
WSETUP.
All functions in WYWO, WSETUP, and WMONITOR are now
completely usable without a mouse.
Version 2.11 - WYWO will no longer cause Windows to display a device error
message box when the drive WYWO is on is unavailable when
checking for new messages.
Fixed moving message filed bug when changing users while
reading messages in WYWO.EXE.
Fixed bug in WMONITOR that wouldn't allow the minimized icon
to be restored to normal size.
Version 2.1 - Took all options out of WIN.INI and placed them in WYWO.INI.
WYWO now comes in 20, 50, and 100 user versions.
General internal changes to both WYWO and WSETUP to improve
performance and functionality.
Allows multiple copies of WYWO to be running, but only with
different users.
Enhanced WSETUP to have the general look of the WYWO program.
Added a Cancel option to the WSETUP program. You must use the
Save button to actually save any new users and to delete old
users and files.
Eliminated the Path option for the INI file. Wywo will load
the WYWO.DAT file from the directory it finds WYWO.EXE and
WSETUP.EXE.
Increase the size of the message data to 300 characters and
made the message field scrollable to accomodate the new size.
This requires the execution of the WCONVERT program to convert
all old and new messages on the system. Run WCONVERT from the
WYWO directory.
If only one user exists, that user becomes the default To:
user for sending messages.
If WYWO is minimized and the user has new messages waiting to
be read, the caption on the icon will display the number of
new messages waiting.
Allowed movement among input fields by use of the Enter or
Return key for quicker data entry.
Added a new Operator field. If no operator is entered, the
current user's name is placed in this field.
Added a Wywo Options screen. Accessed from the Help menu after
clicking on the Help button.
Options:
A Default User can be selected.
User defined message actions can now be added to the
existing message types (ie. Telephoned, Urgent,
Will Call Back, Etc.).
New Message Alarm Time determines how often (0 to 60 seconds)
WYWO will look for new messages sent to the default user.
Added an option for the Save function that determines how
message info is saved to the clipboard, printer or to file:
Specify whether headings (ie. To, From, Date, Time, etc) are
included with the message.
Added WMONITOR.EXE, a Wywo Message monitor which will display
all users who have new messages waiting and the number of
messages. WMONITOR will check for new messages every 30 seconds
to give up-to-the-minute results.
If WMONITOR is running and a new message is sent from WYWO,
WYWO will immediately notify WMONITOR to update it's new
message display.
WYWO, WSETUP, and WMONITOR have been fixed to eliminate the
problem of a disappearing icon when more than one is running
or when other programs start uing WYWO's icon or vice-versa.
Version 2.01 - The Exit button will now minimize WYWO and return to the Edit
mode instead of completely exiting the program. Exiting the
program can be accomplished by double-clicking the closer box
of WYWO or selecting Close from the System Menu.
If sending a message you oneself, WYWO will not bring up the
"New Messages" information.
Fixed uppercase only message type for "Called To See You" while
in read mode.
Version 2.0 - Initial While You Were Out release.
